There are two ways to install paint protection film (PPF). The first: the film is laid over the body and trimmed on the car with a blade. The second: the film arrives already cut to the exact shape of each panel.
At CDD Detailing we only work the second way.
The risk of cutting on the car
Every cut made directly on the body means a blade passing a fraction of a millimetre from the paint. One wrong move can leave a mark in the paint that stays there forever, hidden under the film.
How computer pre-cutting works
We use the XPEL DAP system, with templates made for each car model. The film is cut by a plotter before it ever touches the paint. In the XPEL DAP software we can adjust the templates for each car, so the film covers as much of every panel as possible.
The result:
- no blade on your paint;
- precise, even edges;
- no body panels removed, so their original fitting stays intact.
How you know it is genuine XPEL film
Every roll of film has an identification code (ID), which we write on your warranty certificate. You can ask for it at any time: it proves your car has genuine XPEL film.
Which areas you can protect
You can choose protection for the high-impact areas (front bumper, bonnet, wings and mirrors) or full-body protection. We decide together which option suits your car and the way you use it.
We are an accredited XPEL center, and CDD Detailing is listed in the manufacturer's official installer network. For a quote, message us on WhatsApp.
